Louise Ferchaud

Louise Ferchaud is a ceramicist whose porcelain vessels and plates speak of childhood memory, rural life and the unfinished lines of a sketchbook.

Raised in the French countryside, the artist’s recollections have found form in Mes Souvenirs d’Enfance - a collection of memory plates, whose surfaces evoke the texture of paper - and in her ongoing practice of hand-drawn head mugs.

Ferchaud studied visual arts in Angers before specialising in ceramics at the École Duperré, Paris and in Suzhou, China.
