Seyni Awa Camara

Seyni Awa Camara the celebrated female clay artist whose monumental figurations reference the mystical qualities of motherhood in her community. Her inclusion in the legendary Les Magiciens de la Terre at Centre Pompidou (Paris) in 1989 has led to exhibitions around the world, most recently in Minds Rising Spirits Tuning at the 13th Gwangju Biennale (2021). Her terracotta oeuvre features in numerous museum collections, including Tate Modern (London) and Centre Pompidou (Paris).
